I am always doing little projects that tend to completely absorb me -- for awhile. Here are some current and recent ones:
Accomplished:
- Designed my first website (this one!)
- Decorated my lampshade with a map, using software I wrote. It’s an Alber’s Equal Area projection.
- Got my 36” Houston Instruments pen plotter working, so I can plot big maps (as art pieces -- no one in his right mind would use a pen plotter for commercial maps anymore.)
- Scanned and vectorized some of my favorite 16th century etchings, so I could plot at large scale.
- Learned to use my Grandmother’s old sewing machine and made drapes
- Built a lean-to greenhouse on my balcony.
On my list:
- Market my cards, maps, and etchings online.
- Scan my grandfather’s 100,000 slides of Herefords to preserve his legacy.
